A bad day. We have all had one and it’s going to happen nevertheless at some point. It’s one of those inevitable things in life. So when it happens, there’s not much you can do other than deal with it and move on.
Just because you are having a bad day doesn’t mean you can’t turn things around. It is possible to turn a bad into a positive day in only 10 minutes. You just have to know HOW.
Walk barefoot in the grass.
Connect with nature, feel the sun, and just be. It's a fix from having a bad day. A simple 10-minute walk in the afternoon can boost happiness and re-stimulate the energy you lost. Barefoot walking has this holistic therapy of abundant healing properties that decrease stress simply by letting your feet connect to the very Earth.
Get a boost of your feel good hormone.
Keep that body moving with a 10-minute brisk walk or a light bodyweight exercise and you’ll be amazed by how this can turn your mood around. Get up and get moving to let your blood flow and release those feel good hormones (endorphins).
Learn the art of deep breathing.
It's a natural way to de-stress and take off those bad auras. Find a comfortable place to sit or lay. Take a deep breath in your most comfortable way. Breath in through your nose, hold it for 5 seconds and breathe out gently through the mouth. Gently breathe in and out. Repeat for about 5 minutes.
Watch a funny video.
It could be cat videos, baby-laughing videos or the good old, 3 Stooges. A good humor has that power to turn things around. As they say, “laughter is the best medicine” and that applies as a cure for a bad day.
Talk to someone.
The bad mood builds up inside you and bottling it up wouldn’t help. Call someone and tell them how you feel. Call that kind of friend or family member who you has this magic to lift up your mood.
Play an instrument.
Music has this power to refresh the mind and body. So go on, play a guitar, a flute or if you feel like unleashing all the heavy emotional loads you have, you can go for drums. Listen to how their sounds can actually turn your bad day around.
Know that we will all have those horrible days.
It’s a part of life. But, at the end of the day, keep in mind to leave that bad vibe behind. Let go and start fresh the next day.
Food is always a happy booster. Especially if the food is particularly satisfying to you. Keep something to snack on always in your kitchen, or in your bag at work. At lunch time…consider a little something sweet for afterwards. Homemade desserts are the best!
