The World Of Herbs

The World Of Herbs
It has been said that herbs are the friends of nature lovers and the praise of cooks. Herbs are very versatile. They can be used for added exceptional flavoring, medicines, and even fragrances! They come from diverse groups of plants and sometimes disguised as wildflowers, vines and even weeds.

Herbs for Teas

Who doesn’t love teas? They’re delicious and refreshing. Mint leaves brings calmness and help proper digestion while chamomile is good for a sour tummy. Passionflower leaves are soporific and aid relaxation. Lemongrass stalk brings calmness and so does catnip and lavender.

Herbs for Your Favorite Dishes

Imagine a pesto without basil. Pinch or a bunch, the choice is yours but overall, herbs can pull a recipe together and not to mention make it look AND smell good. The faint licorice flavor of basil brightens an already-there flavor. The piney zing of rosemary compliments well with many dishes. Fresh herbs add flavor, aroma, and enticement to your dishes with their bright green colors and and stunning design. Oregano, chives, thyme and parsley are among the most common herbs used in dishes.

Herbs as a Room Freshener

Gather mint, lavender and sage, put them all together and arrange them like you would with flowers in a vase. Just replace them when dried and start again fresh! There goes your ultimately natural room freshener. Sage, rosemary, pine and cinnamon will bring a fresh and pleasant scent when you put them near your fireplace. Bundle the herbs into newspaper, tie the edges together with string and arrange the bundle in logs before starting the fire.
