Summertime calls for some flip flops, sleeveless dresses, tank tops and one pieces. This is that
time of the year to flaunt off your beauty. So, are you ready to raise your arms for those
afternoon toast and summer concerts?
Dark pits and irritated bumps are common pit problems. Learn how you can prep up for the
sunny days ahead.
Let’s start by exfoliating
Scrub away those dead skin cells. The buildup causes your skin to look darker. Even worse, they
make your armpit become a breeding ground of nasty bacteria that cause body odor.
So, here's what you can do. Use a gentle, non-abrasive exfoliating cleanser and give your
armpits some good scrubbing. This will slough away dead skin cells.
Fancy for a quick DIY exfoliant? Honey and turmeric have some exfoliating magic. Mix 1 tsp of
turmeric powder, a tsp of milk and a tsp of honey to form a paste. Apply the paste into your
armpits in circular motion. Leave it for 15 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water.
Exfoliate twice a week.
Then get rid of those bumps
These bumps could be itchy. To sooth the itch, wash with gentle cleanser and cold water. Use
tea tree oil or aloe vera if you have some. If you bumps re-appear after shaving, you probably
need to stop until the bumps subsided.
Keeping ‘em healthy
Some detox mask will help your pit feel and look healthy all summer round. A paste of
Bentonite clay mixed with apple cider and some water will make a perfect clay mask for your
armpit.
Use virgin coco oil to naturally moisturize the area. Wear breathable fabric. Shave in the
direction of the hair growth to avoid bumps and use shaving oil to avoid irritation. Choose non-
fragrant, natural deodorants.
