Take An Off-The-Grid Retreat

Take An Off-The-Grid Retreat
When science says you need a break, listen. It’s not just about giving yourself time to take a breather; there’s loads more to that. You will lose working hours, you might have a stack of things to do when you get back, there may be errands that you might not be able to do. But that is actually the point of retreat. To get away from what stresses you, and to pull yourself off from the hook of what is routine and dull. To be somewhere where you’ve never been and just forget about the world that you live in day by day. It’s not like you are leaving everything behind. A retreat is something temporary that will help you breathe and refresh your soul. True, the metropolis has a lot of “distractions” to offer which can help you ease out stress momentarily. There’s a weekend at the movies, shopping sprees on Sundays, and getting drunk over a bottle of champagne on Friday nights. Yet, all of these means of “de-stressing” it is nothing compared to stepping off the grid and doing something refreshing. To retreat somewhere will temporarily help you connect with your entire being. For instance, a jungle retreat forces you to be resourceful, most of all, to appreciate nature itself. At the jungle you can listen to the wind dances as it dances with the leaves and the rivers roaring sound of serenity. You can listen to the music of animal sounds calling each other; of birds on their serenading sounds, of frogs on their harsh croaking or the nonstop sound of crickets in daylight. Stop thinking you are too busy to retreat and refresh before you hit the end of the rope and feel burnout. Reboot now. Turn off those technology and experience life at its very essence. Take to the heart, this advice from Maya Angelou: “Every person needs to take one day away. A day in which one consciously separates the past from the future. Jobs, family, employers, and friends can exist one day without any one of us, and if our egos permit us to confess, they could exist eternally in our absence. Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted, no solutions searched for. Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us.”
