Dealing with acne is not an easy venture, I should know, I've had it my whole life! Experienced as I am, I still haven't found a cure all that's sustainable, and yes, I've tried everything. Retinol, over-the-counter prescriptions, microneedling, monthly facials, extractions, chemical peels, extreme changes in diet, even experiencing a different climate, etc. And, although a few of these practices did, without a doubt show improvement in my skin, there were either major side effects or it was too costly to keep up. But, the face I had 5 years ago is not the face I have today. And the most improvement I've seen through all the trying phases have been clean products not boasting an extensive list of hard-to-pronounce filler (and often, cheap) ingredients, regular careful attention to cleansing my phase, and applying the essentials to my skin gently, showing myself love over being to critical of my skin in the mirror, (or playing the comparison game) and lastly, staying with a healthy diet full of nutrient-dense organic veggies and steering clear from overly-processed snacks or tempting sweets and even animal by-products (aka dairy). Remaining firm to this blueprint may not have fully won the battle with acne, however it has dramatically helped my skin to recovery, and I trust in time my skin will heal, scars and all, when its ready. I have a soft spot for getting excited about newfound small brands I can try out and support, so I'm always making little changes to my routine.
