Everyday Minerals Spotlight: Meet Richelle

Everyday Minerals Spotlight: Meet Richelle

Hello there!! Give us a little intro about you.

Hi hello! My name is Richelle, and I'm a style blogger from Toronto. I've been blogging in some capacity since I was in middle school, and love sharing my interests and ideas with others! I studied fashion in college, and I'm currently pursuing a degree in digital communications, so I'm hoping to tie my two passions together in my career. I'm also a self-professed Francophile, and a slight caffeine addict, so you can definitely see that about me on my Instagram!

Mindful shopping is HUGE for you. When did the interest in thrifting initially begin?

I'd say my interest in thrifting began when I was in high school. Before that, my mom and sister would sometimes take me to thrift shops and I wasn't too interested, but once I started to see the amazing things they found and how fun it is to hunt through the racks, I started developing my own interest in thrifting and finding unique pieces! 45q939

In 5 words, how would you best describe your personal style?

I'd say my personal style is timeless, feminine, vintage and French-inspired!

Biggest fears in the industry & how have you overcome them?

I think with putting yourself and your life out on social media, there's always a fear of judgement. It becomes a habit to post only the highlights and what feels safe, but after a few years of being active in the social media industry, I know that's not the way you grow and evolve. So I try to really focus on the audience that supports me, and remembering that we're all human. If I get judged negatively for something I've posted, I just remember that I can't please everyone and hopefully there is someone who did resonate with it, and that's why it went up.

What advice would you give to someone wanting to take a leap of faith & step into the field you've become a pro in?

I would say to just do it! That's the first step. If you're passionate about something, the first step is to pursue it and that's what life is all about to me. I would say to also do your research. Find out what other industry pro's are doing, how they got there, and keep yourself updated on the industry. Lastly, just making sure you're truly passionate about what it is you're doing - that will come through in your work! acs_0995

How do you step back, and take a breather every moment you can?

I am a big believer in self-care! It's definitely important to slow down and appreciate the present, which is something I do struggle with, but meditating, practicing gratitude, and seeing my therapist help. Sometimes you just need to take a few deep breaths to pause and remember all the positives in your life.

How did you know that what you're doing now is exactly what you were meant to do & be fully present and passionate about?

What really made it click for me, was when things got tough and I started to think about other things I could pursue, or what my life would be like without it, and I couldn't picture it. Sharing my style and thrifting has been such a large part of my life for so long, and I can't see a future where I'm not still doing it. That's how I knew that I'm truly passionate about it and should continue to pursue it, no matter the obstacles that arise. bfc27228-9bcb-4ca0-971f-0381776779bf class= Follow Richelle on Instagram! @richellekingsland SHOP WHAT'S CURRENTLY IN RICHELLE’S COLLECTION: Activist Lip Gloss Pomegranate Place Lip Butter Sea Berry + Pomegranate Facial Oil About Jane Austen Luminous Blush Good Morning Luminous Blush Travel-size Flat Top Brush
