Everyday Minerals Spotlight: Meet Patricia

Hello love! Tell us a bit about you.
Hi, my name is Patricia and I live in London, UK. I work deep in the tech industry and at the same time I’m finishing my Master’s in Global Finance. Although, both sound very technical and geeky (haha) I still enjoy and find it very stimulating creating graphic designs and landing websites for small businesses. Although, it seems like that these two (finances and design) don’t have much in common, doing both is actually very interesting and often spark ideas that I wouldn’t otherwise think of.Your creative work is so unique!! When did this passion begin for you?
Thank you, very much! I first started sharing regularly pictures when I moved to Australia as I wanted to capture all my travels while I was there. I often found myself looking at travel pictures of others and feeling inspired by them and I thought I could maybe share my experiences when traveling and trying new things. Since then, the content I have been creating has evolved and I try to make it every time better and better focusing not only on traveling but also self-care and well-being as it is a big part of our lives, especially in the fast-paced and stressful world we are living nowadays.
From what or where do you feel the most inspiration?
I am a very visual person, so I mostly get inspired by looking at pictures, mood boards or graphic design artwork. These are usually the outlets that spark my curiosity and therefore new ideas as well. However, sometimes inspiration comes in the most unexpected form and when you least expect it and therefore, I try to always keep my eyes and ears open. Very often just by talking to people the new inspiration just emerges from nowhere. How do you take time out for yourself, especially when stress kicks in, in the form of self-care?
Stress is definitely an inevitable part of life and I came to conclusion that rather than trying to avoid it, I learned how to face it and handle it on daily basis. However, what helps me handle it in the form of self-care is good skincare routine and working out on daily basis. I find working out and breaking sweat really helps get rid of the toxins in my body and is form of meditation for me. I don’t really think about anything during my workouts just focusing on sequence of exercises. I used to do my workouts only if I got time in a day, but nowadays it is a priority for me to do and is scheduled in my calendar as any other meeting that I have to attend during that day. Workout followed by skincare night time routine and reading book or watching a good movie is definitely my recipe for feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to take on another day.
Was there a kind of pivotal point for you, when you knew without a doubt that THIS is what you were meant to pursue?
To be honest, I am still refining what IT is. As people, we change all the time and I am no exception. When I look 2 years back, I was different person with different aspirations and ideas in comparison to who I am today. But I also think going through this process is vital thing to do in order to get to this pivotal point in your life when you suddenly realize this is what you want to spend your time doing for the rest of your life. Trying new things and experiencing new adventures can be one of the greatest lessons you get to do, so you shouldn’t be afraid of not knowing what it is that you want to do as long as you have an undying curiosity and perseverant heart. In times of uncertainty, what would you say overall has kept you believing the best?
The great people that I’m surrounded with and one person in particular which is my sister. She is definitely the greatest supporter and cheerleader of whatever I decide to pursue. Many people especially in the big cities tend to be individualist (myself included sometimes, haha!) but if you really want to go far having right people in your circle is crucial, plus it’s much more enjoyable journey. What do you believe is your 'Soul Purpose' & what advice would you give to someone who might just now be pursuing theirs?
I would like to believe that my ‘soul purpose’ would be inspiring others through work I’m doing whether it will end up being in graphic design, beauty or finance. Having positive impact on people which results in their own progress and successes is definitely something I’m aiming for. The advice I would give someone is whatever you decide purse make sure it’s something you enjoy and that it is not a sprint but marathon. Therefore, don’t get discouraged if results don’t show immediately…they eventually will
